Wind Walker Learning Center Enrichment Programs
Enrichment programs are “ hands-on, hands-in programs
designed to give a unique learning experience about the
history and social studies of rural Utah. All day programs
for students require 3 adult chaperones, admitted free of
charge. A maximum of 6 adults is allowed. To
reserve your enrichment program spot.
Historic trip through
Spring City
On going through out the year. Minimum number of students:
15; Maximum, 25; per trip into town. Cost: $10.00 per student.
Ride the wagon into Spring City and listen to the history
of the area. Why Sundance Kid's last residence was in Spring
City before he shot the sheriff in Mount Pleasant and died
in the Draper Prison. Listen to stories of the dispatch
riders and Native Americans that habituated this land. Explore
how the area of Spring City was founded and rebuilt several
times before earning its township.
Vernacular lodging building
camp
If staying at Wind Walker Guest Ranch the Price: $125.00
per person per day and includes food and lodging Project
begins June 2, 2006. This is an ongoing project.
Have you ever wondered what it was like to build a boomtown
or a Native American village? We are building the first
phase of the history appreciation village. Come and be apart.
It will be fun and enriching. After participating, you are
awarded with the opportunity to say you where parts of making
history come alive for many generations to come. Every person
that helped build the structure will be commemorated on
a plaque to be placed on the outside of the building.
Learn from the historians how our ancestors built the foundation
our history sits on today. Come and share in the fun.
Kids Connection Horse Camp
Why: Because kids deserve the opportunity for creative recreational
and educational sustained experiences that honor individuality.
Our camp takes only 28 kids to ensure individuality. Plus
kids get bored in the summer, so introduce them to new skills
that will empower them for life.
WHAT’S UNIQUE: Wind Walker is not
just another camp for kids. We focus on enhancing each camper’s
mental, physical, spiritual & social development with
a 4/1 ratio! Horses & nature have been immensely successful
with kids to build skill, confidence, respect & balance
(both emotional and physical). We focus on allowing kids
to have fun, use their imaginations, be creative & participate
in activities that develop self-confidence & a sense
of self all in Mother Nature’s backyard.
ACTIVITIES: Oodles of horseback instruction
& riding, a horse pack trip to the mountains, a breakfast
ride/ eat on the trail, meditation, stress management techniques,
brain integration movement techniques that improve all levels
of learning & communication skills, brain foods, Native
American ceremonies like the Medicine Wheel, the Power Animal
Journey, and the Pipe ceremony, watching elk, eagles, hawks,
rabbits & other totem animals, learn their spiritual
meaning to the Native Americans. Kids will have the opportunity
to swim in our mini lake or pool, build & race a Tom
Sawyer raft, play in our world class mud puddle, cowboy
poetry, story-telling, nature scavenger hunts, dance, relays,
nightly campfire, archery, horse shoes, volley ball, local
rodeos, parades & 1000’s of acres of land filled
with special treasures for children!
HOW MUCH: $495.00 (members $465). Includes
3 nutritious meals a day, snacks and all activities. Sign

Back Country Pack Trip
Courses
Dates: September 1st -4th and June 13th –17th 2004
Price $795 (members $765.) Limit 8
Wind Walker Learning center has two back country trips scheduled
for 2003.
These trips are for the physically fit young adults and
adults. Our trips are rated according to difficulty for
the backpack trips. The horse trips pace is leisurely and
there is time for wildlife watching and relaxation but prepare
for long days and unpredictable challenges posed by weather,
wildlife, and terrain. Unless specified no prior experience
is required.
On all these trips we practice Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics.
Guest experts accompany some of our back country trips.
Back Country Horse packing Course
The ingredients of both are the same:
• Multi-talented instructors who are expert naturalists,
skilled teachers and seasoned back country leaders
• Small groups of 8 students or fewer to a sure personal
instruction and minimum environmental impact
• Learning about low-impact camping and travel techniques,
outdoor skills, natural and cultural history of the area,
great food and new friends.
