World
Culture- The Heritage of Humanity - it is the mark of a common knowledge
of the past as well as the foundation of a shared future.
Individuals and families function within the context of a community,
which in turn functions within a larger society, nation, and world.
The individual's and family's well being is bound up with the community's
well being, and likewise its well-being is inseparable from the
peace and prosperity of the society, the nation, and ultimately,
the world. Our world religious precepts under grid community by
teaching the virtues of cooperation, friendship, justice, and public-mindedness.
These create the spirit of unity by which community can thrive and
prosper. Connection to your own spiritual essence (not to be miss
construed as religion) links us to the possibilities of unconditional
love which is with in us all for it is where we come from and where
we return to. It is the tread that takes us into the age of the
future. Must we keep recreating the pass to get there or can we
finally learn from the roots from which we came and step in to the
future and finally learn to play and work together and respect each
others sameness and differences. We are not so different you and
I the core of our existence is the same.
Imagine a collection of poems whose date of authorship has not been
determined. Imagine a Chinese thinker about whom little is known
and whose authorship of the poems had been challenged. Then read
statements like these: Accept being unimportant” and “Give
up learning, and put an end to your troubles” You have entered
the mysterious world of The Tao Te Ching. Tao offers a restorative
vision of a balanced human life lived in the context of natural
world community. But wait a minute isn’t this the same essence
of the Native American teachings on the other side of the globe
when they speak of being one with all? How can this be? There are
many examples of Unity to beget a community of all the nations.
At Wind Walker Learning center we honor our uniqueness as well as
our sameness by exploring different modalities for creative expression,
spiritual connection, health and healing. After all our own little
place on this earth is a melting pot much like the whole of the
Americas. It can be seen in our architecture and in the communities
faces. In this (what some would call) remote little valley called
Sanpete county, is the most preserved piece of the Mormon cultural
influence through its city layouts etc. You can also see Scandinavian,
Welch, English, Irish, Jews and Spanish heritage. Step back a bit
further and take a better look and you’ll see native American,
Fremont and Anasazi influence, and then what about the ancient ones
that arise so many questions about their tracts through this area.
Step out of your world for a while and explore a new prospective…
